Angel of the North Metal Christmas Decoration. Christmas tree decoration of the Angel of the North, metal shape of Antony Gormley’s sculpture in Gateshead. This is a custom cut metal shape of Antony Gormley’s sculpture. It is sublimation printed and hand decorated with glitter, to give a unique decoration.
The Angel of the North, located on the site of a former coal mine in Gateshead, is viewed by an estimated 33 million people a year. This is due to it’s location beside the North East’s main roadway, the A1 and also the East Coast Main Railway line from London to Newcastle and Edinburgh. The sculpture was commissioned by Gateshead Council to celebrate the North East’s industrial heritage of coal mining, ship building and the birthplace of the railways. The Angel of created at Hartlepool before being transported to Gateshead.
Angel of the North Metal Christmas Decoration, the size of the Angele is 140mm wide and 85mm deep. This bauble comes with a gold cord ready to hang on the Christmas tree.
