Boldon Colliery Railway Station, was originally named Brockley Whins, the station on the 19th June 1844 by the Brandling Junction Railway Company, at the northern end of Station Road. With miners from the local village, providing most of the passengers. The LNER renamed it Boldon Colliery in 1925.
