Christmas Bauble St. James’ Park Stadium and Strawberry Pub. Free Shipping. A flat, round, double sided metal Christmas Bauble with a photograph of St. James’ Park in black and white, taken looking towards the Gallowgate west corner, with the Millburn stand to the left side and the Gallowgate stand to the right side. The statue of Sir Bobby Robson can be seen in this photograph. Text on the photograph reads ‘St. James’ Park’.

On the reverse side is a photograph of the Strawberry Pub. This famous pub is located beside St. James’ Park football stadium, the home of Newcastle United FC. The Strawberry is a very popular pub and meeting place, especially before a football match, which is just over the road. The photograph is in black and white, while the the strawberry, on the sign hanging on the corner of the pub, with a black and white striped shirt, is still in red and the poster advertising Sting is left in it’s original blue colour. The Strawberry Pub, gets it name as this area was once the location of a strawberry field. The road outside the pub is called Strawberry Place. The pub looks rundown from the outside in this photograph. There were plans to demolish it, to make way for new student accommodation, for Newcastle University students. This area, close to the traditional University campus and over the road, on the site of the former Newcastle breweries, has seen major new university buildings and accommodation being constructed.
