Copper Angel Photographic Print. Mounted Photographic Print of the Angel of the North. This photograph, which shows the magnificent Angel of the North, was taken on a bright, summer morning. The statue of the Angel of the North, receives the best sunlight in the morning, this brings out the copper colour of Antony Gormley’s creation. This view, looking straight at the Angel straight on, shows how impressive the size and scale of the sculpture really is. This is helped by the man stood at the Angel’s foot, holding up his young sun, so that the boy can get a better view.

The Angel of the North, located beside the A1, Western bypass has quickly become an iconic image of the North East and is recognised all over the world. This has become an iconic part of the North East. The statue is seen by a motorist every second and is the most viewed piece of public artwork in the country. The Angel of the North is located on the former site of a coal mine in Gateshead. It was constructed to celebrate the North East’s industrial heritage from coal mining, ship building and the birth of the railways and the transformation into the information and technology age. The Angel was constructed in Hartlepool, it was rusted and then sealed to prevent further ageing and rusting. This process is what has created the copper colour and what some locals now refer to as old rusty.

Copper Angel Photographic Print, is printed on heavy weight 240gsm matte paper, which cuts down on reflections. Prints are made on an Epson P9000 printer with 11 inks, these give fantastic depth of colour and neutral and punchy black and white prints.

Please note this picture is supplied mounted, not framed. The print comes a white mount. Each mounted print is packed with a backing card and comes in a cello bag, to keep it clean. Each mount is titled and signed by the photographer.
