Durham Christmas Card Elvet Bridge Snow. A5 Christmas card, with this beautiful and dramatic snow, winter photograph of Durham City, looking up the River Wear to Elvet Bridge and Durham Cathedral and Castle keeping watch over the city below. This photograph was taken on a winters day, it was cold but bright winter sunlight gives warmth to the buildings and a bright blue sky. The footpath along the River Wear beside Browns Boats is covered in snow, as are the rooftops and the top of Elvet Bridge. This photograph is one of quite a few winter photographs taken that day. Although the others, taken around Prebends Bridge and the Pink House and including the Fulling Mill Museum and the Cathedral, with frozen ice and snow on the river. This is the photograph I always come back to, thinking this picture sums up Durham City on a winters day.

This is a photograph that needs to be seen on a large print. There is so much detail and interest in this picture, it is one that you never get tired of looking at.
