Below Durham Cathedral, is the Fulling Mill museum beside the wear, just poking through the trees. Nice bright colourful autumn photograph of this iconic view. The bright deep blue of the sky contrasts against the white clouds behind the towers of Durham Cathedral. The bright sunlight is bringing out the warm oranges and brown colours of the tree leaves, along the banks of the River Wear. These bright colours are reflected in the water below.

Prebends Bridge is just visible in the distance, where the trees on both sides of the river meet. The fast moving water in the river, dropping over the wear in the middle to bottom right hand side of this photograph, is bright white after passing the wear. This brightness lifts and lightens what would have been a rather dark part of the photograph. This also provides a lead through to the Fulling Mill and the towers of the Cathedral above.
