Great North Run Panoramic Fridge Magnet. Newcastle plastic panoramic fridge magnet with photographic print inside. This magnet has a photograph taken from the Gateshead Millennium Bridge looking to Tyne Bridge, with the Great North Run logo on the bridge. You can also see the Sage Gateshead and the top of the Hilton Hotel on the Gateshead side of the Tyne. On the Newcastle side you can see the older quayside buildings, some have pubs, restaurants and takeaways in and hotels inside. On the Gateshead side of the quayside, underneath the Sage is the newly rebuilt Royal Navy training centre. After that, underneath the Gateshead side of Tyne Bridge is visible the newly constructed bar, restaurant and shops, constructed from re-used shipping containers. This used to be the site of the Tuxedo Princess and later Tuxedo Royale, floating night clubs, which first opened in 1983.

The Great North Run, attracts amateur and professional athlete’s from all over the world and their family and friends. The run takes place in September and is one of the highlights of the North East’s sporting calendar each year. This photograph, taken standing on the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, is a ‘stitch panoramic’ photograph. It comprises of six, vertical photographs. Photoshop is then used to assemble the complete picture. This photograph was taken in 2018, during the Great Exhibition of the North event. You can see the huge banner on the front of the Sage Gateshead building and small banners fastened along the railings, right along the Newcastle side of the quayside.
