Shot Glass Angel of the North Red Angel. Free UK shipping. 1.5oz frosted shot glass with a printed watercolour painting of the Angel of the North.
Abstract watercolour painting of the Angel of the North statue, standing beside the A1 motorway. The statue designed by Antony Gormley and completed in 1998 has come to be an iconic symbol of the North East. It is the most viewed piece of art in the country. This watercolour painting by local, north east artist Louisa E. Taylor, is part of her โSplash of Toonโ range of painting, depicting iconic North East landmarks and views. Red, yellow and green are the prominent colours in this abstract painting. The two figures at the base of the Angel, really give a sense of scale of the size of the statue. The Splash paint seams to explode out from the sculpture of the Angel into the sky. The base of the painting has different bands of colour running through it. This painting of the Angel of the North, is unique in Louisaโs โSplash of Toonโ range of paintings as it only includes one landmark from the North East and is not a montage. This approach is carried over into her โBlack Splashโ paintings and feature only one single iconic image.
