Front of the bauble is a black and white, nighttime photograph of the Newcastle Gateshead Quayside. With the Glasshouse Gateshead and Gateshead Millennium Bridge in the foreground. This photography was taken looking along the Quayside, across the river from the Baltic Arts Centre. Lights are on in the Glasshouse, concert venue on the Gateshead side of the River Tyne and includes the Tyne Bridge, Sage Gateshead and the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.  The bright, illuminated buildings on the Gateshead side of the quayside, provide a bright centre to the photograph and these lights are reflected in the waters of the River Tyne below.

The reverse side has a classic black and white photograph of the Tyne Bridge, with the Swing Bridge and High Level Bridge behind. A dramatic black and white, photograph of the Tyne Bridge and Newcastle Quayside taken at twilight. The sun has set, leaving a dark sky, contrasting against the artificial lights. The lights inside the span of Tyne Bridge really make it standout against the dark of the sky. The traffic and figures on the quayside footpath and road give this photograph a real sense of life and movement. A high tide and still conditions on the River Tyne produce a very clear reflection of the bridges in the water. Including the walkway and railing helps takes the viewers eyes through this photograph, from front to back, taking you through to Tyne Bridge and the High Level Bridge and Swing Bridge below. The black and white processing of this photograph makes for a very popular and iconic picture. What is a more iconic picture of Newcastle, than Tyne Bridge.
