Christmas Card Durham Castle in snow. A vertical A5 Christmas card, with a winter photograph of Durham Castle. This photograph was taken looking along the entrance way to the Castle as a group of University students are walking through the archway of the main doors leading to the Castles courtyard. Snow can be seen on both sides of the grass running along side the entranceway cobbled roadway. A bright, cool blue winters sky and clouds, completes this snowy photograph. The sun is striking the main entrance way into the castle, while the base of the photograph is still in shadow as are the silhouetted group of students walking inside.
Durham Castle along with Durham Cathedral is part of the World Heritage Site. The Castle is now home to students of University College, a part of Durham University. Visitors are welcome to take a guided tour around the castle site.
