Durham Bridge View Card

Durham Bridge View Card. A5 greeting card, with a photograph of Durham Cathedral and the riverbanks, taken in autumn beside the River Wear. Standing underneath Framwellgate Bridge, looking along the banks of the River Wear to the grey towers of Durham Cathedral in the distance. The arch of underside of the bridge is used to frame this photograph and reduce the amount of sky in the picture. The afternoon sunlight on the warm autumn leaves of the trees helps take the viewer though this picture to the towers of Durham Cathedral in the distance. The warm yellows and browns of the tree leaves are reflected in the water below, providing a nice bright, colourful centre to this photograph.

The underside of Framwellgate Bridge is lit by the light and reflections in the river, this provides some much needed light and warmth to the stonework. This prevents the bridge being too dark a frame for this photograph. In this photograph, with the reflections from both the bridge and the trees lining the banks of the river, they produce a strong, left to right diagonal running through. This allows the viewer to naturally move through the picture to the Cathedral towers in the distance. The leaves on the trees are just starting to turn colour, from their dark green summer appearance, to their autumnal browns, yellows and oranges. This is always a magical time of year to walk round the riverbanks and provides a wealth of photographic opportunities. There are a couple of little birds in the water, underneath Framwellgate Bridge

Durham Bridge View Card, comes in a clear cello bag, with a white envelope. Card is left Blank Inside for your own message.
