There is a black edge to the coasters, this really sets off the photographs inside. The set of coasters are supplied in the gift box as shown. Durham Cathedral in snow, is a beautiful and soft winter photograph of Durham Cathedral, taken from the top of University Hill. Looking across the snow topped rooftops of Durham City to Durham Cathedral and Castle sitting above the city. This is a stunning and beautiful photograph of the Cathedral, with snow on the trees and rooftops of the buildings in the city. The view from this angle of Durham Cathedral is one of the few views that shows the outside location of the Rose Window. This viewpoint also shows off Durham Castle, located to the right hand side of the Cathedral. On this day the snow was very thick and it has very hard work getting to top of University Hill for this photograph. I think from the resulting picture, the effort was well worth it. A standard lens was used to take this photograph. It was important to include not only Durham castle but the snow covered rooftops of the buildings around the city. This was one of the best days for snow photography in Durham City for many years.

Winter photograph of Prebends Bridge and the Durham Riverbanks, with snow and frost covered trees. Warm, winter afternoon sunlight is lighting up the snow on the tops of the trees behind the bridge. This warm light is also reflected in the water of the River Wear below the bridge, this reflection gives brightness and colour to the centre of this photograph. The cool blue colour of the trees on both sides of the River Wear take the eye through this photograph, straight to Prebends Bridge and the warm colours behind the bridge. A couple are walking along the snow covered footpath towards the ‘Pink House’ located before the wear. This a beautiful and peaceful photograph, taken on one of those special days when the snow and frost remain on the trees all day and you are lucky to get some warm afternoon sunlight to work its magic. This photograph was taken, standing on Framwellgate Bridge looking straight along the river. Most people would have included the Cathedral in the photograph, but that would have spoilt this photograph as the Cathedral would have taken the focus away from Prebends Bridge.

Durham City in the snow, a beautiful and dramatic snow, winter photograph of Durham City, looking up the River Wear to Elvet Bridge and Durham Cathedral and Castle keeping watch over the city below. This photograph was taken on a real winters day, it was cold and the snow is falling and there is a pale grey sky. The footpath along the River Wear beside Browns Boats is covered in snow, as are the rooftops and the top of Elvet Bridge. This photograph is one of quite a few winter photographs taken that day. Although the others, taken around Prebends Bridge and the Pink House and including the Fulling Mill Museum and the Cathedral, with frozen ice and snow on the river. This is the photograph I always come back too, thinking this picture sums up Durham City on a snowy, winters day.

Snowy Durham Riverbanks and Cathedral, is a photograph of Durham Cathedral, the Fulling Mill and the Riverbanks, with snow frozen on the River Wear and on the rooftop of the Fulling Mill Museum. The pale blue and soft white clouds in the winter sky, lets the morning sunlight strike the sides of the towers of Durham Cathedral providing a bright contrast to the Fulling Mill and River below. Although there is ice and snow on the top of the river, there is still a good flow of water over the wear running to the Fulling Mill.

The coasters will be packed in a strong card mailing box and are posted on a Signed For service. International orders are posted Tracked.
