This warm light is also reflected in the water of the River Wear below the bridge, this reflection gives brightness and colour to the centre of this photograph. The cool blue colour of the trees on both sides of the River Wear take the eye through this photograph, straight to Prebends Bridge and the warm colours behind the bridge. A couple are walking along the snow covered footpath towards the ‘Pink House’ located before the wear. This a beautiful and peaceful photograph, taken on one of those special days when the snow and frost remain on the trees all day and you are lucky to get some warm afternoon sunlight to work its magic. This photograph was taken, standing on Framwellgate Bridge looking straight along the river. Most people would have included the Cathedral in the photograph, but that would have spoilt this photograph as the Cathedral would have taken the focus away from Prebends Bridge.
