Greeting Card Autumn Leaves Watercolour. An A5 Greeting card, with a watercolour painting depicting the view from beside the Guildhall on the quayside and includes the Tyne Bridge, Sage Gateshead and the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. A large tree with its branches and leaves fills the left hand side of the picture and provides a frame over the arch of Tyne Bridge. With the leaves of the tree, illuminated by the street lights, they help to brighten up, what would be a dark sky. The bright, illuminated buildings on the Gateshead side of the quayside, provide a bright centre to the painting and these lights are reflected in the waters of the River Tyne below.

A single fallen leaf sits on the footpath at the bottom of the frame, this provides the viewer a starting point, from which to explore with painting.

This watercolour painting by local, north east artist Louisa E. Taylor, is one of the first of her watercolour range of paintings, depicting iconic North East landmarks and views.
