Description
Greeting Card Greys Monument Watercolour. A vertical A5 Greeting card, abstract watercolour painting of the ‘Monument‘ in the heart of Newcastle city centre.
This watercolour painting by local, north east artist Louisa E. Taylor, is part of her watercolour, fine art range of paintings, depicting iconic North East landmarks and views.
Grey’s Monument is a Grade I-listed monument in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It was built in 1838 in recognition of Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1830 to 1834. In particular, it celebrates the passing of the Great Reform Act 1832, one of Grey’s most important legislative achievements. The act reorganised the system of parliamentary constituencies and increased the number of those eligible to vote.
This dynamic painting of Greys Monument captures the scale of the monument, combined with the hustle and bustle of the people below going to work or out shopping. It has a real sense of life and energy captured in this painting.
Greeting Card Greys Monument Watercolour, comes in a clear cello bag, with a white envelope. The size of the greeting card is 148x210mm. The card is left Blank Inside for your own message.
This watercolour painting is also available as a fine art, mounted print, on Louisa’s Etsy site. For more details, click here.
