Greeting Card Royal Scot

Greeting Card Royal Scot. A5 size Greeting Card with a photograph of the famous Royal Scot steam locomotive. This locomotive was named after ‘The Royal Scot’, train service which was LMS’s express, non-stop service operating between London, Manchester and Glasgow stations. Royal Scot 6100, started operating with the London Midland and Scottish Railway, on the West Coast Mainline. The Locomotive was designed by Henry Fowler in 1927. This new locomotive was designed to compete with LNER’s A3 class locomotives, operating on the East Coast. It was later rebuilt by William Stanier in 1942. This locomotive was transported to the USA in 1933, to the Century of Progress International Exposition in Chicago.  As well as taking part in the exposition, the locomotive toured both the USA and Canada before returning home.

This photograph of Royal Scot was taken in 2017, on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, in it’s British Railways livery carrying the number 46100. The locomotive is seen here, departing Grosmont Station, heading off non stop to Pickering and then back. The Royal Scott was the guest steam locomotive to launch the NYMR’s 2017 season. The Flying Scotsman had performed this duty the year before.

The Greeting Card, is an A5, 210x148mm size card. It comes with a white envelope and is cello bagged.
