Mounted Print Durham Impression. A  watercolour painted ‘Splash’ picture of the Durham City skyline. With Durham Cathedral as the main element in this painting by local North East artist Louisa E. Taylor. This Durham Cathedral painting, uses more soft pastel tones, they are more pink, yellow and orange. With the odd splash of blue and green mixed in, to provide some contrast. In this watercolour painting, Louisa’s technique has been to use more watercolour wash on the base of the painting and not so much ‘Splash’. Where she has, this has been confined mostly to the centre of the painting. The sky is similar, it is mostly a light, pale watercolour wash, with just a couple of darker splashes of paint to add interest. While this is a softer painting, Durham Cathedral is quite bold and is well defined. The Cathedral is very large in this painting, with only part of Durham Castle showing on the left hand side of the picture.

Mounted Print Durham Impression, watercolour painting is printed on heavy weight 240gsm matte paper, which cuts down on reflections. Prints are made on an Epson P9000 printer with 11 inks, these give fantastic depth of colour and reproduce the original painting perfectly.

Please note this picture is supplied mounted, not framed.  Print comes in an off white, textured mount, ready to be framed. Each print comes with a backing card and in a cello bag to keep them clean.  Each mount is Signed by the artist and titled.
