Newcastle Autumn Leaves, is a black and white photograph of the Newcastle Gateshead Quayside taken at night. This photograph was taken, standing beside the Guildhall on the quayside and includes the Tyne Bridge, Sage Gateshead and the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. A large tree with its branches and leaves fills the left hand side of the picture and provides a frame over the arch of Tyne Bridge. With the leaves of the tree, illuminated by the street lights, they help to brighten up, what would be a dark, black nighttime sky. The bright, illuminated buildings on the Gateshead side of the quayside, provide a bright centre to the photograph and these lights are reflected in the waters of the River Tyne below.
Tyne Bridge, this photograph was taken, stood on the Gateshead Millennium Bridge walkway. Looking down the River Tyne, to Tyne Bridge. The High Level Bridge can be seen below Tyne Bridge and the Swing Bridge can be seen closer to the river. While it looks like a straightforward photograph to take, getting the angle right and avoiding the metal support cords on the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, showing in the sky is a bit tricky. The other issue taking a dawn photograph on the Millennium Bridge is that you need to use a tripod, due to needing a long exposure rather than increasing the iso on the camera. A long exposure gives much better image quality and also softens the water, which gives a much clearer reflection of the lights in the River Tyne.
Grey’s Monument is in the heart of Newcastle. Grey’s Monument was built to commemorate Earl Grey, a local politician who was British Prime Minister from 1830 to 1834. The monument was erected to acclaim Earl Grey, for the passing of the Great Reform Act of 1832 and stands at the head of Grey Street. It consists of a statue of Lord Grey standing atop a Roman Doric column on a pedestal of local sandstone, the Monument is 135-foot-high (41 m) in total.
Newcastle Gateshead Quayside is a nighttime black and white photograph looking down the River Tyne, to the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, which is used to frame the Tyne Bridge. On the lefthand side is the Baltic Arts Centre and the Sage Gateshead. This is bright and punchy photograph with a dramatic sky and lots of bright light from the street lighting along the quayside.
The coasters will be packed in a strong card mailing box and are posted on a Signed For service. International orders are posted Tracked.
