Featured elements include the Angel of the North, the Sage Gateshead, Tyne Bridge, Newcastle’s Castle Keep, The dome of the Monument Mall and Grey’s Monument. With the sun above Tyne Bridge, this add’s a large lighter and brighter colour element to this painting and contrasts against the darker and bolder colours of the buildings. Pink, red, purple and yellow are the prominent colours in this bold and colourful abstract montage painting. This watercolour painting is by local, North East Artist Louisa E.Taylor and is part of her ‘Splash of Toon’ range of paintings. Each painting features a unique arrangement and selection of buildings, bridges and landmarks from the Newcastle Gateshead skyline. After deciding on the arrangement of elements, each watercolour painting is created with a completely different colour pallet. The colours that work for one arrangement, so often, just don’t work for a different one. This is often down to the way the buildings and bridges are arranged for the painting.
