Newcastle Tyne Bridges Card

Newcastle Tyne Bridges Card. Is an A5 size greeting card, this photograph of the Tyne Bridges, was taken beside some new apartments above the quayside, looking down across the Newcastle Gateshead Quayside at sunset. From this fantastic viewpoint you can see the whole of the new look quayside. All of the bridges crossing the river tyne are included in this photograph, including the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, the Tyne Bridge, the High Level Bridge and the Swing Bridge. The Tyne and Wear Metro Bridge is only just visible in the far distance. The lights inside the Sage Gateshead building can also be seen on the left of the photograph. There is a clear reflection in the River Tyne from the lights under the walkway part of the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, linking the Baltic Arts Centre and the Sage on the Gateshead side of the Tyne to the Newcastle side of the river.

A long telephoto lens has been used to take this stunning photograph of the quayside bridges. Using this type of lens compresses the photograph, so that the scene and the bridges appear closer together than they are in real life. There is a subtle, lead through in this photograph, with the street lights beside the quayside footpath and their diamond star lights, helping the viewer move through the picture into the centre, with the bridges. The eye can then travel around and explore the rest of this exciting photograph. This photograph was taken with the Gateshead Millennium Bridge lit with it’s purple lighting. This colour lighting really makes the arch of the bridge standout against the blue and orange of the sky behind.
