Fridge Magnet Azuma LNER Train. Plastic fridge magnet with a photograph of a LNER Azuma Train unit, photographed at Newcastle Central Station. This photograph was taken in March 2019, after LNER had taken over operating the East Coast Main Line from Virgin Trains. These trains have replaced both the 125 HST units and class 91 electric trains. The Azuma train is designed and built by Hitatchi. With the components manufactured in Japan and assembled here in the UK. The trains ability to switch from electric to diesel power, allows it to operate on a much wider part of the rail network than the locomotives that it has replaced.
This evening photograph of the Azuma train at Newcastle Central Station, shows off both the station and the train unit as it waits to head to off to London King’s Cross. The sun is setting behind Newcastle Central Railway Station, sunlight is shining through the station roof between platforms 4 and 5. This is right above the Azuma Train unit. The setting sun is causing a bright glow above the station’s roof and the sky gradates to a dark blue heading out to the top right hand corner of this photograph. The angle of the platform, the railway track and the Azuma train create a dramatic and powerful composition in this photograph. I felt it was important to the photograph that I included the Newcastle station sign on the platform, beside the Azuma train.
Fridge Magnet photograph size is 70 x 45mm. These is a small stand inside the back of the magnet, this is to alloy the magnet to stand up, rather than be stuck on the fridge door. All of our plastic gift products are manufactured here in the United Kingdom.
