Durham Cathedral Daily Bread Window Greeting Card. Vertical DL size greeting card, with a panoramic photograph of the Daily Bread Window. This modern stained glass window inside Durham Cathedral, it depicts a representation of the Last Supper, the viewer is looking down from above, with Christ at the head of the table and his 12 disciples seated around the table. This window was donated by the staff of the Durham branch of Marks and Spencer in 1984, to celebrate the companies centenary. The window was designed by Mark Angus of Combe Down, Bath. The window is located in the Nave of the Cathedral, beside the entrance from Palace Green and the Cathedral’s visitor information point. The window next to it is another modern window, the RAF Window, which was unveiled in 1948. This part of the Cathedral is also beside the Galilee Chapel.

Work to construct this fabulous Norman building, began in 1093 and took about 800 years to complete. It is the shrine and resting place for the remains of St. Cuthbert. The monks of Lindisfarne had spent many years travelling around the North East of England looking for a suitable resting place for this important saint. Durham Cathedral and the buildings around palace Green, including Durham Castle in 1986 were designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.
