This is a very popular destination on the North East coast, the lighthouse is just a short walk from Spanish City and is part of the beaches and bays along the coastal way, heading North from Tynemouth.

Orange, yellow, blue and black are the prominent colours in this abstract painting, created using multiple techniques, by North East artist Louisa E. Taylor. The Lighthouse, stands proud above a dark black horizon. The bright oranges and yellows of the fiery sunset contrast against the hints of blue sky creeping through. The coloured paints in the sky seam to emanate and swirl around the lighthouse.  Lighter colours from the sky are reflected in the water below the horizon. These colours are more jumbled up, as they would be seen as the tide comes in. White paint has also been used in the sea, to mix and blend the reflected colours. This is a bold and beautifully coloured acrylic painting of this landmark on the North East coast. These acrylic paintings were produced by Louisa during the first Lockdown of 2020.
