St Mary’s Lighthouse Card. Free UK shipping. This is an A5 size greeting card. Setting sun at St. Mary’s Lighthouse, photograph of the lighthouse at Whitley Bay. Located on St. Mary’s Island, this photograph shows the lighthouse reflected in the North Sea. The setting sun, casts a lovely warm light onto the lighthouse and the sand on the beach, on the righthand side of this photograph. This photograph was taken further along the beach, near St. Mary’s Island and includes a line of wooden posts, getting taller in size, the closer they get and breaking the horizon line. The sweep of the coastline, takes the viewer’s eye from left to right, through the photograph, until you settle on the bright white Lighthouse and cottage, catching the setting sun.

St. Mary’s lighthouse has been restored and now has a visitor centre and shop, cafe and you can climb the 137 steps to the top of the lighthouse for a fantastic view of the North East coastline. Do check tide times for safe crossing times over the causeway to the Island.
