Christmas Card Tyne Colours Newcastle. A5 size Christmas card with a watercolour paint Christmas design, based on the popular Tyne Colours painting by local, North East artist Louisa E. Taylor. This is an image from her ‘Splash of Toon’ range. The watercolour painting features the iconic buildings and bridges along the quayside. This includes the Sage Gateshead, Tyne Bridge, Newcastle Castle and Grey’s Monument. Bright, bold yellows, reds, purples and greens are the main colour used in this painting. The buildings are bright and solid colour, with the ‘splash’ going up into the sky and flowing down from the buildings and bridges to the base of the painting.
Each painting features a unique arrangement and selection of buildings, bridges and landmarks from the Newcastle Gateshead skyline. After deciding on the arrangement of elements, each watercolour painting is created with a completely different colour pallet. The colours that work for one arrangement, so often, just don’t work for a different one. This is often down to the way the buildings and bridges are arranged for the painting. It does make each painting unique and it also makes the whole range of paintings varied and suited to be hung on a wide variety of different colour painted walls.
The watercolour painting for this card adds a Christmas Tree to the regular image, this has replaced the Sage Gateshead building. The Tyne Bridge, Newcastle Castle and Grey’s Monument are the other elements making up this painting.
The size of the Christmas Card, is 210x148mm. Each card comes with a white envelope and is cello bagged. The Christmas Card is left blank inside, for your own message. Text on the front of the card reads ‘Merry Christmas’.
